after getting a new timing belt, i figured i would treat my car to a little cleaning. there's this $4 carwash that does a decent job cleaning the outside, but the best part about this place is that carwash customers can use the vacuums free of charge (without a 2 minute time restraint like the quarter-eating vacuum machines at other places). so, as i'm pulling into the car wash, the attendant asks if my antenna will go down. i politely tell her that it used to retract, but for some reason, it no longer does. *note to reader: this should've been my clue not to go through with the car wash...*
i'm riding along in the $4 car wash, carefully watching my antenna being flung this way and that by the huge twirling fabric cleaner things, when all of the sudden, about halfway through the cycle, i no longer see my antenna.
long story short: the good news is my car is clean. the bad news is the car wash ate my antenna. but look on the bright side, the antenna is still attached and functioning (for the time being), and my car is now more aerodynamic thanks to this ordeal. check it out.
